What information do we collect about you?
We collect the information about you that you voluntarily provide when you join the Society. We also record your participation in Society activities and events, including work parties and the AGM. We maintain financial records indicating payments from you to the society and from the society to you. Payment details, such as account number and sort code, required by our bank are held anonymously, ie there is no record of names linked to bank account details. We do not collect any other information about you and do not collect data from visits to our website.
When you leave the Society your personal information is removed. The Society financial records which contain records of transactions between you and the Society are held for a period of 7 years.
How will we use the information about you?
We collect information about you to manage your membership and maintain communication with you regarding the Society and its operations.
As required by our membership of the National Allotment Society, we will also pass your name and postal address to the NAS to maintain the Society’s membership of this organisation and the benefits this offers, including the Kings Seeds scheme, the CCAS potato ordering scheme, discounted allotment insurance, and advice and legal assistance where needed.
We will not pass your details to any other organisation (apart from the NAS) without your express written consent.
Access to your information and correction
You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email or write to us at the address below. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
